As a climate friendly producer, SweetDream has decided to voluntarily calculate the greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions of its operations to evaluate whether these emissions have improved in recent years. We have engaged world leading energy and environmental consultancy firm, McKinnon and Clarke to quantify the carbon footprint of our operations as a result of energy used, from 2006 through 2008.
All SweetDream emissions were only from consumption of purchased electricity because we use no fossil fuel-powered machinery in our manufacturing, we emit no GHG from burning of fossil fuel at our plants. We deeply concerned to conserve the environment by minimising any adverse impact on the environment and we continue to maintain a safe environment for the community as a whole.
The results of the exercise have revealed that the carbon intensity of our operations has consistently decreased each reporting year. By the end of 2008, SweetDream had reduced its carbon intensity by 46% over its 2006 levels. |
